Over the years I’ve managed to accumulate enough spare carbine parts that all I need in order to make a shooter is a stripped receiver. I would prefer an NPM or Standard Products receiver since the barrel I have is Marlin. However, I would be satisfied with anything that is USGI, in good condition, if the price is right.

I just count my parts bin as a seven-eights carbine.

I've passed on a couple of commercial receivers and a damaged late Inland receiver, so I'm still looking. Thanks!

Anyone out there have a USGI receiver they want to sell? I tried to contact Colin on the CMP forum but so far, no luck.

Bump. Still looking for that perfect NPM receiver to go with my Marlin barrel. Standard Products would be my second choice...for the right price.

I have an underwood receiver, honestly not sure what a fair market price is. I would say it’s in ‘good’ condition.

I was able to buy a like new NPM(U) receiver from the Larry Ruth estate. It mated with my "like new" Marlin barrel with no problems. After resolving some unintended multiple discharge problems caused by a combination worn sear and weak sear spring, all is good. I'll post some range results soon.

I replaced the sear, sear spring and trigger. Five shots (one at a time) from 30 yards. Still need a little windage adjustment but GTG.

Very nice Jack, your spare parts look much better attached to that receiver. And it looks like it shoots great too.

@Wayne, I think Dan was a little concerned when I said this receiver would go on a "shooter". It is especially nice with no dovetail stake marks and what looks like an original finish. However, I don't think I will shoot it that much. I could start to search for the parts to "correct" it but then I would be in the same boat as before with a bunch of left-over Inland parts that need a barreled receiver.

Yes, I looked closely at that receiver, it is a nice one. Just don't stake that rear sight in place!

From the looks of that target, I think you front sight must be too short. I'd look for a taller front sight.

If not out of range in the lower setting already, run the slider down.
