Over the years I have seen heaps of Bavarian carbines on the web (primarily here, I think) and a few of them have plum trigger housings, but most do not. I wonder why? (here is mine)

Post number six, by "sleeplessnashadow" contends that the plum color is due to the higher nickel content of these trigger guards and possibly the higher temperatures they were subjected to during refinishing.

I’ve ready it was due to the heat treat process as well, I have an Bavaria Border Police with the plum trigger housing
