I have a Saginaw with a 36166xx serial number. Purchased at an auction and all internals are properly marked. The stock is a type 1 OI marked in the I cut sling well and a RSG 2 rivet handguard. The stock also has a circle P on the bottom of the hand guard.
Would that type 1 be on an M1 Carbine with my serial number? Any help is appreciated.

I have a 3.3 SG with a type II OI stock and a RSG 2-rivet hand guard which I believe to be correct. 3.6 might be a stretch, but it’s obvious that SG had some Inland stocks in-the-house. I base my opinion on some older untrusted and outdated information and would like to hear further comments on the use of Inland stocks by SG early-on as well.

What does the CC acceptance stamp look like, and did you mean the circle P is on the bottom of the stock grip?

As stated in an earlier post if the stock has the Saginaw SG and cross cannons then it would be a lateral support stock sent to Saginaw. If it doesn't have those markings then it is a replacement stock put on after it left the factory.
