will the CMP muzzle wear gauge that looks like a 308 round accurately measure a carbine muzzle?

I don't about 308, we usually use 3006 cal.

sorry for my terrible description. the gauge i am referring to is from the CMP for testing the M1 Garand. the gauge is in the rough shape of a cartridge with CMP embossed into it. i just wasn't sure if i needed a specific gauge for the carbine.

Your CMP gauge is a .30 cal gauge and will work on the Carbine.
