Hey everyone,
I was a club member back in the '90s. I had plenty of interest but little money. As time went by, kids grew and my focus turned to their activities. Which translates to even less money for carbines. The kids are grown and paying their own bills now so, here I am. I'm amazed and shocked of how far M1 collecting has come. It's amazing the amount of information that is available as compared to almost 30 years ago. But, the prices of some items are hard to believe. The days of a table full of 15 round mags for $5 each are clearly long gone. I got really good at rubbing the wax paper with my hands in order to soften and unwrap the paper to check out the code. I also had a nice collection of un-issued belt and stock pouches, paying $5 to $10 for each of those. I wish I would have held on to those. Even though this is the new reality, I'm happy to be back collecting again. I'm looking forward to learning new things and shaking loose the things I had learned and tucked away all those years ago. Darren

Welcome back. I joined the forum 4 years ago and things have changed quite a bit even since then so I can imagine your "sticker shock". Worst thing for me is the increasing amount of fake parts being sold as original. I pretty much stopped buying anything, but for when I do and have doubts I'm glad to have this forum to help out. Great bunch of folks and glad to have you.

Welcome back, prices have gone up, even in Europe they are going up some people thing they have struck gold, but the prices over here still are at least half of what they ask in the usa. But the times you could find one for under $100 are gone. And wherever prices are high fakes are plenty
