I've got a SG that I can contribute data on. This is a Navy "white bag" carbine that I picked out for myself while volunteering at CMP.
Question 1: Serial number - 5861160 Question 2: Initials above serial number - S.G. Question 3: Front ring details (use a capitol i for sanserif one) - CAL. 30 M1. (serifed 1, period) 3a. flat top 3 Question 4: Rear tang - wide Question 5: Rear left receiver detail - no ear Question 6: Front and middle left detail - no markings left side Question 7: Receiver bottom detail - partial single marking on lug, just a straight line Question 8: Barrel manufacturer and date - SAGINAW S.G. DIV GENERAL MOTORS Question 9: Rear slide cut detail - round cut Regards, mb |

I got this Saginaw from the CMP in 2016 I believe. It’s been heavily reparked so some numbers, letters or markings may be gone or hard to make out.
1- 3584427 2- S’G’ 3- CAL. .30 Ml There is an E in front of this 3A- I can’t make that part of the 3 out 4- Narrow 5- no ear 6- Y very well struck lower middle of the receiver 7- no markings I can see 8- INLAND MFG DIV GENERAL MOTORS 10/43 9- square |
