I have here a National postal meter with german proof stamps that is missing a part of the receiver.
It shoots nice and the proof stamps are from 2006.
Only it is missing a part of the receiver(see pictures)

Someone probably tried tightening the lugs and it snapped because they are hardened.
A competent welder/machinist may be able to repair it.
Is that an early number?

I guess the front lug and stock have been holding the TH in place close enough for it to function. Looks like that area has been dressed, so somebody knew they did it.

Maybe (two big maybe) :
Hypothesis 1 : someone intended to Improve the accuracy by doing a bedding and felt that the rear housing lug was to be suppressed?

Hypothesis 2 : after breaking the lug he tried to correct the deficiency by doing a kind of bedding?
