Here are some pictures of the well worn NPM that I received from RTI. Pretty rough looking on the outside but the internals, bore and muzzle are in good shape.

Uh oh ...it's the infamous N14 bolt :)

Looks great though. Thanks for sharing.

I was about to say the same thing. I have first hand experience with one of those.

Not a bad idea to grab a shooter bolt and save the N14.

Funny, I thought the exact same thing when I pulled the bolt out and saw the N14.

I have a 95% SG that is a little beat-up, but a carbine like that has character, as they say. It’s likely been-there-and-done-it.

Below is a picture of an Ethiopian Oiler that came on this carbine, still had a 3" piece of leather strap attached.

Nice! Love the swivel too. Congrats on the pickup. It's amazing to me how many of these sat in Ethiopia for so long with flips and type 1 bands.

From 51-63, we gave them 13,040 carbines.
From 65-71, we gave them 2,286 carbines.

Suppose either "block" could be the source or perhaps both. I guess all that was required was a place in the US to store them after the war where they sat until lend-leased to other countries.

I'll go back and read Jim's pages and the newsletters, but I'm guessing that a supply of parts were also included in lend lease transactions.
