Thanks for accepting me.

I am from the Netherlands and I own a nat. post meter .30M1 the barrel has been renewed by the dutch army.

There will be a full report on it later including pictures Wink

My 30M1 will be used mainly for club competition shooting.
the ammo will be my own reloads after I have used up the factory ammo that came with the gun when I bought it.

The other guns I own all have someting to do with militairy/govnerment use, but are all made after the second world war making my 30M1 the oldest firearm I have.

I hope you can forgive the odd typo here and there since English is not my native tongue and my fingers sometimes type the wrong words LOL

Your English is much better than my Dutch or any other second language I could list. Welcome to the club! Look forward to seeing pictures of your NPM.

Thanks all, today I got a die set for the 30M1, so that part is also covered, only need a factory crimp die to complete it.

Good detailed observation.  Usually on the type 1 (stock) pouch first thing I look for is the back snap placement.  It should be to the right of center.  Good thing about a reproduction is if you want to mount it on your stock, you can cut the snap out and not worry about scratching your stock.

yes I was thinking about cutting the snap out, since its not original, but I dont think I will ever mount it on my stock, just use it for transport of my two mags to the range

The 30 carbine  case seats at the end of the chamber and the case length can effect headspace.

I believe it is not recommended to crimp the case. The crimp may cause the front of the case to not seat properly.

not sure what others think of that, but a good friend of mine always uses the factory crimp die, I have shot his IBM several times in competition and it always worked perfect.

here is a sneak peek of my 30M1, the wood is darker than on the picture, it takes some time to get the papwerwork done over here so it will be a few weeks before I can pick it up.

Lyman: The cartridge headspaces from the mouth and therefore case trimming must be uniform and accurate. Do not reduce cases below the trim-to-length. Additionally do not crimp bullets as this will prevent the case from properly headspaceing on its mouth.

Sierra:
Like most straight wall rimless cases, the M1 carbine headspaces on the case mouth. Therefore, we recommend applying only a modest taper crimp.

Speer interestingly states: This cartridge headspaces on the case mouth, so taper crimping is strongly recommended to remove any flair at the case mouth

seems reload data changes over time. Let us know what works for you.

Looks like a late wartime stock for Inland. Let us know if any markings in the slingwell

Well due to the corona virus it took some time before the paperwork was done, but finaly the 30M1 is here.

better pictures will be take.

in this picture you see it laying on the military green bag that probably only was used for the Dutch militairy, black belt on it original for the Dutch militairy

in this picture what came with the gun, flash hider, a tool, 2 spare sights, and 4 small mags and one big mag

1 small mag stamped with U
1 small stamped with KSG
1 small stamped with R-C
1 small stamped with UN
the big one is stamped with AI (Dutch militairy)

the comming months the gun will be taken apart and inspected and forms filled for the archive
