There is currently a QHMC Carbine on gunbroker with 2 barrel bands? Someone please give me a good explanation for this.

Little known fact, that happened to some carbines during the transitional period between type 1 and type 2 bands.

I've got nothing except....
A Attempt at fixing that pesky rattlin hand guard ?

T2 band appears to have the 2 weld spots on either side of the screw like seen on many WRA Carbines.

While you have the sight pulled to replace the barrel band, might as well put a spare band on there while you’re at it. It will make it easier to replace next time.

Any of you old enough to remember when we use to install mirrors and dual radio antennas on cars back in the mi-50’s? Then there was a crowd that had mud-flaps, curb-feelers and fender skirts.

Only reason for two bands is that a type 3 won't fit

The type I band probably doesn't have the inner ring and someone just stuck it on over the sight to keep it with a Carbine instead of in a drawer.
My sig: Seen an IP or S'G'? Add it to my registry. We'll check consecutives.
