Based on the markings what Carbine make should I associate this barrel for usage? Is this a Quality short P? Has anyone seen this marking on an IP? |

My sig: Seen an IP or S'G'? Add it to my registry. We'll check consecutives.

Looks like classic QHMC to me, but proofs can be confounding too.

Here, I'll rotate it for easier discernment. Still looks QHMC to me. |

I have to vote QHMC based on everything I have seen on my own and other rifles.
Similar question I posted a while back on one of my barrels, kind of knew the answer but thought there might have been an RO proofing anomaly. Absent any evidence the more plausible explanation is a old "correction" to my BR. Nice looking hard to find barrel. I just found a 3-43 dated barrel for a restoration I'm doing, it has an interesting "proof over proof" that might be a QHMC over RO. I am going to post in another thread when I get a chance to take a picture. |
