Poop on T3 band marked A-in-circle
and hammer marked AM?

Pretty sure the hammer is not missing a B on the end. Very strong AM strike in small characters.

Type 3 band with A in a circle made as a replacement part by Apex Metal Stamping of Brooklyn, NY, circa 1967-1969.

It is always a plus for me, as any time I research info for someone I end up learning something new, which seems to be never ending with carbines.
