M1A1 Carbine

   Hello:

I have had this carbine for several years. It sits in low wood which has been a modification at some point. My question = does the circle P on the left side of the grip indicate a rebuild? I do understand that some low wood modifications were made in the field. I also think the handguard may be a replacement as well. I would appreciate any comments regarding the carbine overall. Thank You
