Since a CMP 1911 is not in my near future, here are a few pictures of an Ithaca 1911a1 that I purchased back in 06 or 07. I believe that it is everything it should be. I know for a fact that the front sight is not a repro! I am a little conflicted on the production date, 44 or 45? apparently there is an overlap. Sure would like to find a carbine with a matching serial# but that sure would be a long shot.

Mmmmm 1911 candy!
Thank you for sharing a fine example of John Moses Browning's genius.

Nice looking Ithaca. I think any like that arriving at the CMP would end up on the auction block.

Clawson's book lists your date as 1945. I have one about 10,000 later.

Thanks, that is what I always thought the date was, but the way the chart is in Poyer's book it got me wondering.

I have Poyer's book too. But Clawson's is the one I always go to.

If I'm reading your SN right, Meadows list your Ithaca shipping 3/5/45.

Haven't seen that many of the CMP releases that look similar in appearance. Many are heavily refinished which is fine for a Service Grade usable 1911 with a history of 70ish years of military duty.
