This was bought as a restoration with a flip in place, which I took off. Underneath was flip staking which appears Parked over so, it must've been the original staking. Can you imagine an inspector approving this?

Additionally as a warning to people knocking off adjustable sights, note the rear staking and how thin it has made the dove tail at the point. It's surprising that the dove tail corner didn't break off when the adjustable was removed by the previous owner. If you see something like this, just leave the adjustable on it. It's not a resto candidate unless you're welding up the holes. Craters, even under the flip don't fool people.

Hmm, make and date range?
Might have had a bent barrel that Springfield armorers had to go and straighten.
Forgot which manufacturers, anyone?

WAR BABY - Chapter 7 - The Quality H.M.C. Carbine (pg.125)

"Rock-Ola barrels needed straightening so often that, at one point, gunsmiths from Springfield Armory had to be sent to the Rock-Ola plant to straighten several thousand crooked barrels."

Just recently started working my way through War Baby for the first time :)
