Pin Pointed Problem

CAMP RUCKER, Ala., Nov 12 1951

Anyone got a spare carbine trigger housing pin? If so send it posthaste to Pfc. Peter Hayden, at Camp Rucker.

A short while ago Private Haden lost the pin while cleaning his carbine. He was bawled out by his sergeant when he asked for a new one. So to keep it safe he stuck the new pin in his mouth when he cleaned the gun again.

Everything went fine until a buddy told a joke. Private Hayden laughed and swallowed the pin.

Now he's trying to work up the nerve for another visit to the Supply Sergeant.

A scene on a submarine in the movie "1941" comes to mind..."You bastards ain't gettin' doodly ____ out of me, 'cept for maybe my name, rank, and social security number..."

Take My Word For It
Frank Colby

From the "Saturday Jamboree"
H.C.M. writes in of the army's new carbine: "It can kill accurately at 300 yards"  Isn't that looney logic? Wacko

Answer: Yes; and I suppose the army proving grounds would reject any firearm that would kill "inaccurately" at any distance. Clap
