When a barrel splits like this the barrel threads may deform by the barrel split trying to rip them out. The relief cut looks a little mangled, but look further back and it appears to have a defect. Bottom line, would you trust this receiver after what it has been through?

What would have happened for that type of damage to occur?

go up a few posts and look at how the barrel split at the slide groove.
My best guess is a bullet got stuck in the barrel and next bullet led to catastrophic failure. Auction says bolt and slide dont move [or to that effect]

I have never been one to believe the stories about some "blue sky" import stamps being struck so hard that the barrel bore becomes deformed, so I will say this is just a coincidence that this barreled receiver is a blue sky import. Or is it a coincidence? Something for sure was obstructing that bore when it was fired.
