Hello,

This is my first post and was hoping for some help with my Rock-Ola M1 Carbine. Have no idea if it’s all original or not. Bought it with 16 other guns from a local estate. My expertise is in pre-war Winchester’s and Colts.

I want to be completely up front with you guys. I’m searching for information, so I can price it fairly and not misrepresent the gun to a possible buyer. If this post is not allowed or I’m stepping on any toes, I want to offer my apology. If allowed, I’ll post multiple pictures for your judgement.

Appreciate any help offered.

Thank you!!

Don't believe you would be stepping on any toes. Please do post pics, as many as you can, especially of the small parts, ie.. sights, hammer, trigger housing ect.. We like pictures on this forum and I am sure someone will chime in as to what you have with your Rock-ola.

Thank you!! Tried uploading a picture but said picture file size to large. I'll try to figure out how to shrink them.

Hopefully, you don't have a lot of money in it as it's a mediocre attempt at a restoration. Incorrect screw for the band swivel, rear sight stake marks, fake mag catch and incorrect hammer. Stock, I think, is for a Quality Hardware, either way it has multiple type band marks on the front nose indicating it's been changed. Others will fill in the gaps I left.

Appreciate the reply Why Carbines. Luckily I don't have a lot in it but maybe more than it's worth. Any idea of value?

I think that by your serial # range Rock-ola was using the type II stock not the type I.

Rockola I cut stocks have show up pretty much throughout production though sporadically
It is thought they were over produced before switching to oval cut.

But as pointed out the CC is incorrect for Rockola factort

Thanks Dan, did not know that. I based my comment on what I saw reported on the R-Ola COM's in the newsletters, all after serial # 1746775 had Type II or Type III stocks, with the one exception being an EX- presentation carbine.

CCNLs 117,118 and 119 is the Rockola update.
119-5 shows that the I cut has shown up very late. It is more an exception, not a rule.
There may be other newsletters that mention the stocks.

One obsevation was an I cut RMC (do not remember if a B) on an otherwise correct looking late IBM.
Interesting was another mark found on it.

Guys get gaga about an RMC I cut. More common than people think when you consider that they provided stocks to other prime contractors as well.

Don’t have the NL’s handy.

Straight Hammer in first block?
B/R Hammer correct or replacement?
Barrel dated?
