I suspect it is a reproduction, but I am not that knowledgeable about carbine small parts. The sight did come with other carbine after market parts like metal handguards, spring kits, and some authentic carbine parts. I am thinking , if real, it should have some type of markings. Real or reproduction?

Sometimes JAPAN is stamped on the bottom where we seldom look. Not all aftermarket ones, but some.

From time to time parts marking have been missing. In some instances the mark is found in wrong location, double stamped and sometimes overstamped.
how did they get the stamp in the location below?

Best bet would be to post a picture. If you have trouble posting you can email to me and I will post.

Could it have been stamped before brazing.

The article linked above it answer my thoughts on it.
It is my belief that the brazed front sights were stamped out and makers mark applied before being formed and subsequently brazed
