Newscotlander hits it on the head. We do not know the extent of lateral transfer. I have seen 2 WRA,s in the past: one was a AW code transfer with a re-used WRA # and a 6.4 million. Both had an Inland type 2 with a very thin finish. The front sights appeared to have never been removed. IMHO leave the gun alone.

Thanks, l was going to try and get a correct type 2 Winchester band for it, but I am going to leave it that way.....I am just going to assume it was a field replacement maybe,,, again thanks .John
