Some of the chests for the 20k volt M3 Sniperscopes and their equipment may have a card taped to the inside of the lid listing the contents of the chest (see arrow in photo below). The info on the cards was sometimes typed, sometimes hand written. The actual contents of the chest may be different than what's listed on the card.

Sometimes the lid interior is missing the name plate. Sometimes the larger professionally printed chart of the contents is missing, absent the protective plastic and/or taped to the inside of the lid instead of riveted.

It would be very helpful if those of you who have a chest with one of these cards could share all of the information on the card (especially the date) as it helps us reconstruct the history of this equipment.

We're finding the cards appear to have been used with the first 1200-1500 chests. The earliest of these chests appear to have preceded the use of the American Optical name plate as the rivet holes where the name plate was eventually placed are absent.

If you have one of these chests please know these cards and the taped on charts that were later riveted to the lid were not a civilian modification. They are part of the chest's history.

For those willing to share this information it can be posted on this thread or I can be contacted using a forum private message or by e-mail at Jim@USCarbineCal30.com.
