This is something I picked up recently, and hope to learn more about.  Thinking it might be a neat retro-build project. Trying to date when this one was initially put together will be the first challenge.  Looks well used, but retains original finish and has a nice patina.

It shows an interesting set of parts ....

5-43 dated ROCK-OLA barrel.  The Type I front sights are marked 'RP', pin/stake marks are untouched.  Type II unmarked barrel band.  Rear sights are Type II with 'H' in shield marking.   Complete Type III Winchester bolt.   The trigger housing assembly seems to be a complete S'G' one.  Although I can't find any markings at all on the mag catch.

Nice high wood stock. Unfortunately it has been sanded at some point, so only a faint proof mark remains on the pistol grip.  Most likely the stock wasn't with this carbine originally anyhow.

Winchester front & rear sight. According to WB Inland sent 5 receivers to Rock Ola 4/13/43. Some nice S'G'/IP parts too.

Front sight is marked with 'RP'.  Is that not a Rock-Ola marking?

'RP' is late Rock-Ola, but the finger nail cut is Winchester.
