He Dog, also known on the large auction forum. From New Mexico, and a retired zoo curator of herpetology and entomology in the zoo field for nearly 40 years. Now hoping to work far enough down the honey-do list to find where 'Fishing' is written. I do enjoy gun shows and regularly attend the Tulsa show and local shows, irregularly Denver and Reno. Have hunted most of my life and still do when I can get drawn.
The focus of my interest is on military handguns of WWII and M1 Carbine magazines. After buying an Auto Ordinance Inland which came with a WWII mag, I learned that they were marked and that there were circa 150 different marks. That tickled the collector gene and I began wondering just how many of those a guy could pull together. Then I began thinking there might be a show exhibit in there somewhere. Then I thought that exhibit would need a real original carbine, and now have a Saginaw, all correct except the third model bayonet mount which I believe was issued a year later than the 1943 Saginaw. I have been able to find scant printed information on the mag markings, and one internet listing which appears so far to be accurate, but I have also found 2 or 3 mags not on any of the lists I have found. I am now looking for more extensive listings, as complete as possible, and will be ordering some of the back issues with mag articles when those are again available. I would appreciate any leads on magazine information.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Interesting profession you have and good luck on the honey-do's. Regarding markings on carbine mags I use http://www.eqth.net/mirror/carbinemags/ which is probably the one you found. When you get the chance, it would be great if you could post some pics of the unlisted ones. There are some well experienced collectors on the site who may come up with the answer.
Again, welcome and best regards.

Welcome He Dog. Lots of good information here and the main site. Magazines are just as addictive as carbines.

Maybe, but hard to know for sure. Have posted on all carbine forums at one time or another.
