Sad to report that one of the most hard-working and dedicated members of the former Carbine Club passed away today (July 20), after several years of battling cancer. Tom Spring was an early member of the club, and served as a volunteer staff-member from 1984 through the end of traditional newsletter publishing in 2015. Tom helped in researching numerous articles during those 30 years, and served as coordinator for the classified ads and the sale of newsletter back issues. He was always eager to help club members. A veteran of the US Army, Tom was a self-employed carpenter and general contractor in upstate New York.
Condolences may be sent to his family at: 8 Windsor Drive Glens Falls, NY 12801 |

Very sorry to hear this. I had originally met Tom at the Albany, NY gun show many years ago. He helped me get on the right track to carbine collecting. RIP
