Buffalo Bore has introduced three (3) 110-grain .30 US Carbine loads. These do not exceed the 40,000 PSI maximum for the cartridge, so there's no worries about blowing up your rifle.

a) The 110-grain FMJ leaving the barrel at 2100 fps and yielding 1077 foot-pounds of energy. This is a deep penetration load that passes through more than 30 inches living mammalian tissue. (Think of how this load would perform on those wild pigs, depending on the bones that are struck)!

b) The JSP that leaves the barrel at the same velocity, but passes through 18 inches of living mammalian tissue, while expanding nicely. This load works well while hunting larger game, as well as in correctional and police settings. Thumbs Up Dead

c) The JHP that leaves the barrel at the same velocity, but blossoms violently and penetrates a maximum of 13 inches in living mammalian tissue. (This would be a marvelous house load, when maximum energy deposit is desired, while limiting penetration).  Clap

The JSP and JHP deposit their energies in such shallow depths that 1/2 a ton of energy will likely be deposited within the target. (You can wager that they'll never play the violin again)! Wink

Check the Buffalo Bore website  for further test results in real rifles. I think that you will be pleasantly surprised.

How much energy is half a ton?

Nevermind. Einstein showed that the energy E of a body having rest mass m (here 1000 pounds) is given by E = m*c^2 where c is the velocity of light in a vacuum. That's a boatload of energy, more than seen by Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined!

1000 pound-feet. (These loads yield 1077 pound-feet at the muzzle of an 18 inch Carbine barrel).

I will have to check these rounds out. I like the 30 Carbine and like a lot of rounds, the round nose FMJ round in 39 special and 45 ACP (although its size helps it very much) and the 30 Carbine gets a bad rap.

These are pricey but interesting. I will get some to test - especially at longer distances. I'm curious to see how they perform.

If these feed OK, I will buy a few boxes for serious Home Defense use. Never know what may happen after November.

Try it, you'll be glad you did, it's like the carbine and Buffalo Bore ammunition were made for each other, the carbine seems to come alive when shooting them.

Read about them, then give them a try, you'll be glad you did.

Here is part of the down loadable Buffalobore pdf catalog if ,anyone is interested, you can see the ammunition is pretty hard hitting, it well surpasses the 357 magnum (not shown).
Sorry I couldn't paste the whole PDF, had to copy to word, only got part of the catalog, then when it pasted for some reason it double spaced the lines, and I can't correct that, but the most important section is here for your viewing.
