I'm installing Russian Red Furniture on my AK. I'm having problems getting the top wood on the New Standard Gas Tube. I've seen a video with a guy putting grease on the ends of the wood to help, my question is will this grease harm the Wood or strip the Color of the Wood. The ends are were it's goes into the Metal cover part of the Wood.

Not shure if I understand what your trying to do but I wouldn't put grease on wood. It would repel any stain or finish.
