Well last week I finally made it out to the Buffalo & Erie County and Military Park to see the USS Croaker and look through their archives.
The archives they have on Croaker are fairly limited due to her changing hands as a museum ship and only making it to Buffalo in the late 80s. It’s what I expected really, but the only way to know for sure was to look through everything they had. Touring the Croaker was the real goal. She’s pretty different from WWII configuration these days. Updated during the Korean War she got a new sail and reconfigured bow. Edited by New2brass - Nov 17 2022 at 10:47am |

Looks like a neat tour. Few years ago I toured the USS Cobia which is at the Maritime Museum in Manitowoc, WI. It was built at Victory Yard right before the USS Croaker; they're sisters. I really enjoyed it.
