Here are some pictures of my-new-to-me carbine with a Underwood 3-44 barrel.  I'm not an expert on M1 carbine barrels, but this one doesn't seem to have a lot of wear.  I'm close or am I miss reading this?   Thanks

Think the bore looks pretty good. Tell us more about the carbine you got. Since you got it from Classic, I suspect it has the IOINC Melb Fla import stamp on it? Curious as to what brand bore scope are you using?

It's IOINC from Classic. It's a Standard Products receiver with the Underwood barrel.  IBM bolt and hammer, Inland slide and Saginaw trigger group. Still searching for the other parts.

Stock is marked IO, with a P on front of hand grip (below the trigger).  The hand guard is stamped IO too.  The condition?  Well, it looks like whomever it was issued to, cleaned it by beating it over sharp rocks.

All of the metal looks good.  No rust or pitting. Milled rear sight (stamped H in a shield), round bolt, M stamped mag release, N stamped front sight, all of the updates.

It's a Teslong rifle bore scope from Amazon.  Usb and will work on computer or Android phone.  Less than 50 bucks.  It woks great.  Especially for the money.

If the lands and grooves look that sharp and untouched all the way to the muzzle, you've got a brand new barrel there. I have several NOS Underwood barrels that have never been on a rifle, and that's what they look like. Should be a great shooter.

Yes, it's like the pictures I posted through out the barrel.  Here's one of the throat.

I was thinking if it had been shot a lot, the groves in the lands would be more smoothed over with more copper filling.  But I'm no expert so that's why I'm asking.  Thanks!  I feel a bit better about spending the next two mortgage payments on this. Smile
