Have a M1 marked Springfield Armory.  SC 13xxx. It’s a C not a G.  Can’t find real info on it . Would like date of manufacture and prox value. Is it rare? It’s in great shape. Thanks

Click on the picture of the cutaway carbine at the top of this page. Then scroll the menu that appears on the left of the next screen to Commercial Carbines and click. Go to the next left side menu and click on Companies and Carbines. This will take you to the commercial makers where you will find Springfield Armory. Everything you wanted to know and then some.

A very good commercial receiver.

I would not say it is rare; value would be similar to any
current production carbine, or less - depending on use.

As bonnie said, they are good receivers- or supposed to be anyway.

Not rare, but are good quality. The receivers are well made and the foundry that produced them still makes them for Fulton Armory, I think. I believe they all have the foundry location stamp in the left side. GENESEO, IL maybe? Not sure of current value. Pretty much like other commercial values.
