all push safeties are worthy, so long as they are authentic. I think I’ve got a fake one

Yep I am questioning if any of the ones in the photos I posted are not fake.
I am sure we will get some input from some senior members.

I'm not much good on safeties, but was feeling confident on the SW. There's one or two here but I don't know where. Haven't had a lot of experience with any of those markings. The SNs don't seem to be poorly stamped like you will often see on repop stuff where there is extraneous metal sl*g left on them. They aren't boldly stamped would be one question mark. The appearance is almost exact on all of them showing a good repeatability. The Inland checkered safety doesn't scream fake either. Wonder why they would've all be refinished though.

I suspect 1 - 5 are fakes but on fence about 6&7. The SN font and the finish on 1 - 5 didn't sit well. The SN safety in my NPM has a smaller font and confident it's real. Still learning; which is one of the many bullet points that makes m1 carbines so much fun.

Those SN aren't deep nor perfectly clean in the letters.

The 'Rolling Mill 'on ebay only sells reproductions of the desirable parts. Here is a marked safety. |

1 and 2...Nope, IMO...font is off.
Is 3 even possible?...SN marking on a type 2 safety not listed in WB or CCNL manufacturer review. All I have ever seen is IN. Never say never as they say. Even if, font is off. All three...1, 2 and 3 have fonts and stampings that look very similar. Especially 1 and 3. Edited by m1a1fan - Sep 04 2019 at 7:20pm |

Can't tell if a 2 or type 3

My guess on them. All the SN marked are Type-3

Thanks for clarification that all three SN safeties are type 3. If the one you have are like the ones I've seen, the differences are quite dramatic.
Be careful out there....Learn first, buy later. JMO.

Ever Weigh a known original safety (say a Type 3) vs a Repro/Fake ?
Original Flip vs. Fake Flip. Type I barrel bands vs. Repro/Fake Type I. Front Sights, Mag catch etc..... Original vs. Fake ? Gets Real Interesting...... I also Agree with your picks. Good Post, Thx, Charlie-P777
