There were a few "colorized" WWII pictures on the website I got it from, this was the only one I saw with a carbine in it. |

Day 44 Notice the shoes…and the pipe…and the muzzle cover on the Carbine. This is a large photo, like it was printed for framing. I wonder who this Army Air Force Tech Sergeant is or was? We’ll likely never know, but I hope he made it home ok… David Albert dalbert@sturmgewehr.com Edited by New2brass - Oct 11 2019 at 5:14pm |

Looks like a B24 to me also. Doesn't look as if there is a prop on engine behind the soldier.

Japanese American? There is just something about this picture that makes it among the memorable that I see.

Japanese American? Only he knows for sure. My guess is Native American. It is an intriguing photo.

Looks possibly American Indian. But of course that's not far removed from a native Far Easterner. Looking again, he might be Korean.

Re: DAY 45
A good chance he may have been a part of the 442nd Infantry Regiment.

"A Japanese-American Soldier for the 442nd Regimental Combat Team stands in a foxhole just outside of St. Die, France on November 13, 1944. The 442nd had just entered the line during a relief in place operation."

Here is a good one. Canadian soldier of the PPCLI (Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry) regiment with his standard issue No. 4 rifle and an M2 Carbine with what appears to be a modified Type IV stock judging by the grip in Korea:
