I picked up a few wartime issues of the American Rifleman at a flea market today that were in great condition, various dates. I found a few ads and articles related to the M1 Carbine that I found to be interesting and thought collectors here might enjoy them. A few pictures near the end are for the M1 Garand or other wartime items of interest.

Notice in one of the pictures of the carbine, it has a somewhat longer magazine than the standard 15 rounder . . . .yet not curved like a 30!
Looks to be a 20 rounder. I’ve seen this before in other pictures. Any explanation?

Yes, I thought that was neat as well, looks like they used the Winchester prototype #2 for the drawing. http://www.uscarbinecal30.com/Winprototype2.html |
