I hope being stranded in Hawaii isn't for a bad reason.  Predicting snow here tonight with a high in the mid-20s tomorrow.  Be looking forward to seeing your carbine when you get the time.

Have not removed from stock, yet. I'm not home in the PI. Currently in Hawaii. Going to be here longer than I thought, so the M1A1/M2 will have to wait.

Have you taken it out of the stock yet?  Pics will be great.

If I may continue. First, thanks to all for the welcome aboard and to the rest, I applaud your willingness to stay awake and supply constructive reviews. I've been doing some crazy reading as of late. I say crazy because, as soon as I think I have a clearer understanding of the Carbine, 30 cal, I'm reminded of Grasshopper, "as soon you can grab the round from my hand..." Not happening.
So far, my weapon looks like model M1A1 Carbine, the compact version, with a folding stock, because I have not seen or read of a folding stock M-2. I'm thinking (now) it was overstamped M-1 to M-2 after a conversion, can't really tell in pics. Providing ya'll unblurred pics of markings. Initially, I didn't provide good pics, but gun is not in the states. Does it appear to be overstamped?
