This listing is currently on GunBroker. A Receiver Marked SG that also has a Inland Lineout to Underwood. Strange to say the least.
I have no interest in buying it because of the Blue Sky import markings, but I am interested in the history on this. I can’t seem to find any reference in War Baby (1 or 3) to an Inland lineout to Underwood being passed to SG, or vice versa. Anyone have any ideas? |

Not sure this should be considered a double transfer. Saginaw was sub-contracted to make receivers for inland, at first they were marked SI on the side (700xxx-709xxx ser range), later they were marked SG (710xxx-951xxx ser range).
Inland transferred approx. 12210 receivers to Underwood from late 42 to late 43. There are examples pictured in CCNL 230, of SI and SG marked Inland receivers being transferred to Underwood. Note the Underwood "Ord Bomb" on the receiver bevel pictured in the listing. |

Thank you. I knew about the inland transfers to Underwood, but did not know that SG subcontracted any of their receivers. That is great info.

The wording of double transfer is incorrect. It is a subcontracted receiver that went to the prime contractor and then the prime contractor transferred to another prime contractor.
It is the same with the AO made IBM receivers which were sent to others. SG was making subcontracted receivers for Inland before they produced carbines. |
