Have seen at times where it was said DCM / CMP were rewelding recievers that were not fully cut in half, don't remember where I saw this, was that possible, I would not think so. How about a little help to straighten me out. Thanks

I do not know about the DMC but dealers were selling them. Some scrap guys also rewelded and assembled carbines

Jeez... you don't want to fool around around with weld repair on a receiver.
1. 4140 steel is tricky to weld, and original USGI receivers were heat treated after finish machining. Welding anywhere on a receiver would denigrate the integrity, except for maybe on the dovetail. 2. There would certainly be a liability concern for anyone welding demilled receivers and selling as part of a complete functioning firearm. Weld repaired receivers are only good for one purpose, a non-functioning display firearm. |

Good Lord NO, your life isn't worth it, don't buy a welded Receiver, or welded anything else for that matter.
