Regarding m1a1fan's questions on Handguard Matching this looks like a nice match...

Wish I had that one.  Actually I came across this in a photo history while Googlin' and didn't know if every one has seen it.  A few of the pictures I have seen but he has a bunch and some are really nice closeups of the carbines.  He has this cross-posted on a couple other forums but I didn't see Bunker or any similar combination on our member list.  If you haven't seen this it's worth a few minutes, or at least I enjoyed it.

Ron Dalhamer is a long time club member.  He recently shared some pictures in the "where are they today " thread

Whoever the poster "bunker" is we have to find if he is a member or invite him to share some stuff here!

That carbine in picture looks to be a presentation. Might be the millionth carbine.  They would pull figured wood for such purposes.
In the "where are they today " post look at the IBM carbines. Clearly they did not match for color.

I thought he would be a member but only had the user name to go by.  That explains why I've seen a few of the pics.  None the less this is an outstanding historical photo album.  Thanks for the insight.

I updated my post, I do not think Ron is "Bunker"
Ron is a former Inland employee and is credited for many of the pictures. So maybe Ron knows who bunker is.

The picture of the army guy at the desk looking at the fiddle-back stock carbine  is Col. Fred A. McMahon. "BUNKER" posted some really nice pictures.

YES he did!
I came across Bunker's photo essay that I linked in the initial discussion in this thread.  Several pictures in his "essay" are credited to you and are outstanding.  In the linked forum he stated he has even more pictures.   He stated, "I’m a big WWII M1 carbine and M1911A1 collector, among other weapons.  I started collecting the M1 many decades ago and I have also compiled hundreds of photos of each of these weapons over the years, so I thought I’d put together a carbine photo essay for any of you who may also be into this weapon."

We were wondering if he is a member here and if not perhaps we could invite him.

I find photos #2 through #5 especially interesting, since the Carbines are shown with their travelers during production. Does anyone know of a traveler that still exists? That would be a great M1Carbine historical find, though very unlikely to have survived.

An unfinished trigger housing! Very cool. The pic above the Inland I cut has three carbines including an M1A1 and a beaufitul cutaway.

The picture below the Inland I cut looks some kind of bellows. Does anyone know what operation was performed there?

m1a1fan,

Those are indexing targets and snail bullet catchers for live fire and accuracy testing.

Picture upside down?  Strings on tags are at bottom.  Makes more sense for the travelers orientation as well.

Great photos! I thoroughly enjoyed looking at all of them. I think we could all think of talking points and questions to ask about each photo.
