Payments & Shipments
Money order, cashiers check, or personal check with shipment after payment clears. Directions for which family member to make the payment out too and where to send it will be provided to the person with the highest offer, privately.

All firearms must go to an FFL or C&R (if eligible). Shipping is at cost and paid for by the buyer. The buyer will be provided with a total once we know the address the carbine will be shipped too. All carbines will be shipped via USPS Priority Registered Mail insured. This is the most secure means possible and not to be confused with "priority mail" as sometimes it can take a little longer depending on where the shipment is going.

Long Guns
ALL carbines/rifles will be shipped via USPS Priority Registered Mail and MUST be shipped to an FFL (or a C&R if eligible). If your FFL holder requires an FFL holder to ship the carbine to them there may be an additional FFL fee.

Handguns
Due to Federal laws and/or USPS, FedEx, and UPS policies handguns must be shipped by an FFL to an FFL. The FFL the family uses to ship handguns charges $50 per handgun. They also collect the shipping cost and insurance (at actual cost and often at a discounted rate). 

Parts & Accessories

They were not the German company Erma-Werke. Their carbines included whatever GI parts they could obtain at reasonable prices. The trigger housing and stock was made by Ermas. The stock appears to have been added as it's not an Erma's stock. The stock and handguard appear to have been custom made from the same walnut stock blank. This one includes a magazine. Note: Ermas barrels were all 1903 barrels inserted into the rear half of a demilled carbine barrel. This is not inherently unsafe and the manner in which Ermas did it shows they knew what they were doing. See their web page. Also, Erma's did not harden any of their receivers. When iai went out of business Horner was compensated with receivers and parts for money he was owed. Some of which he assembled into carbines using both iai parts and surplus GI parts. iai initially produced carbines in .30 cal carbine only. Their ".22 Carbine" was added later in production. It fires a 5.7mm catridge. We don't know if Horner test fired these carbines. I suspect he would of but cannot confirm it. Horner was a very competent and experienced gunsmith. All includes a sling, oiler, and magazine. IAI/iai's History - Liberty Armory History - Johnson Arms 5.7mm Johnson History #072 iai M1 Carbine, caliber .22 carbine (5.7mm) s/n R207665 The slide stop notch in the iai receiver Horner used with this carbine was not drilled deep enough to retain the slide stop pin. The stock and handguard manufactured by Ram-Line was added by Larry Ruth as the one it came with was "used only for shipping". This particular carbine is the carbine shown in War Baby! volume III, page 1649, figure 2017. Price: $550 + shipping #151 iai Commemorative M1 Carbine / Liberty Armory, caliber .22 carbine (5.7mm) s/n R207690 iai's "commemorative" was simply an emblem in the stock, nothing special about the carbines. It was not manufactured by the Inland of WWII fame. This carbine has been fired but is in very good condition. It includes the sling, oiler, and a magazine. These sell for over $1100 new. A word of caution ... my experiences with three of these are shown on our web page. The right bolt lug on this one needs to be monitored for damage due to this company's improper hardening practices. This is essentially a dressed up Auto-Ordnance carbine. All parts are manufactured by the same companies. Auto-Ordnance has a flat bolt version, Inland uses a round bolt version. A number of these still rewmain in use in France. The .30 short cartridges was ever so slightly shorter than .30 carbine. The ammo was manufactured for export to France for a short time by someone you may have heard of: Bill Ricca. The only difference between this carbine and those in .30 carbine is a slightly shorter chamber for the slightly shorter cartridge. For anyone interested, a finish reamer can easily alter these to .30 carbine. These were manufactured by Iver Johnson during their time in Arkansas. This one includes the sling, oiler, and magazine. All parts are original Iver Johnson. Price: $500 + shipping Iver Johnson's History ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ #087 Iver Johnson WWII Commemorative M1 Carbine, caliber .30 carbine WW0340 - American Historical Society Manufactured by Iver Johnson in New Jersey about 1980/81 these were the American Historical Foundation's first commemorative carbines. In this case for WWII. This one includes it's original solid walnut display case. The window was made of plastic and tends to develop small scratches as this one has. With display case, in 1982 these sold for $870. This carbine is in nice condition. Larry never even disassembled it. It's a bit dusty and could use some oil to preserve it's finish. As evidenced by the front sight and slide with modified handle absent a slide stop hole for the slide stop retention pin. The exception is the trigger housing is aluminum and was manufactured by Plainfield Machine. Includes the sling, oiler, and a magazine. Price: $650 + shipping National Ordnance History ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ #144 NATO M1 Carbine, caliber .30 carbine No one has been able to determine who NATO in GA was, Larry Ruth included. However, the serial number on this receiver indicates it was manufactured by Iver Johnson in Middlesex, NJ about 1981/1982. We believe NATO was considering the purchase of Iver Johnson but it fell thru. The company was sold to a group of investors in AR instead. No other NATO carbine has been found. This carbine has a GI SA barrel dated 11-1950 and was built using all surplus GI parts. Probably by Larry Horner at Liberty Armory in TX. Note: This bolt closes on a no-go gauge. Price: $800 + shipping NATO carbine information ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ #153 Plainfield M5 Carbine, caliber .22 PPMC (5.7mm) Melvin Johnson's 5.7 MMJ carbines with the name of Johnson Arms were manufactured by Plainfield Machine in Middlesex, NJ. Johnson trademarked the 5.7 MMJ name. So Plainfield renamed their version as .223 caliber, changed shortly therafter to .22 PPMC and designated them their Model M5. This is simply a Plainfield Machine carbine manufactured in 5.7mm instead of .30 carbine. Serveral parts have the Plainfield logo. The trigger housing is Plainfield's aluminum version. The rear sight was added at some point. It was manufactured for West Germany as indicated by the NATO part number on the left side of the sight. It includes a magazine. Predates their side scope mount. First style Universal aluminum trigger housing, stock is scratched but otherwise this carbine is in very good condition. Includes sling, oiler, and magazine. Price: $650 + shipping Universal Firearms History ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ #071 Universal M1 Carbine, caliber .30 carbine, Teflon Green, s/n 137120 This is a Universal Firearms hybrid carbine manufactured in 1967 or 1968. It features a Teflon coating to protect the firearm from the elements. For several reasons the bolts and sights were not normally Teflon coated. Contrary to marketing efforts at the time it did not make the gun an underwater gun. Resulting in many rusting from a lack of care and maintenance. This example is one of the few surviving exceptions. This particular carbine is the carbine shown in War Baby! volume III, page 1564, figure 1857. It will include its original magazine. Price: $700 + shipping Universal Firearms History ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ #133 Universal M1 Carbine, caliber .30 carbine, s/n 164499 This is a Universal Firearms hybrid carbine manufactured in 1968 or 1969. It includes its original Universal sling, Universal oiler, and a magazine. It's in very good to excellent condition. The finish has a few small imperfections that cleaning may or may not remove.
