My boxes are not as nice as your. The cartridges inside are dated 1917.

First world war ammunition in original boxes are difficult to get by.
I was lucky on those ones and I exchanged them for modern ones.
When I got the chance I like to keep old boxes or ammunition. It seems that finding boxes older than 1917, what ever the caliber is really hard or so I think. And these days I guess prices are most of the time over the top.
Among others I have a WWII .45ACP  box that I affectionate particularly due to its provenance: I was shooting at my club when I notice that old guy shooting a 1911A1. He was going to throw away the empty box in the bin. He add the 1911A1 as well as the box since the war .
