This is just a warning not to ask ebay seller jewishace any questions regarding his listings. He currently has a listing for a Lot of seven carbine oilers, when I saw the listing the other day I noticed that the title of his listing said "Lot of Seven Oilers" but in his description it said "Lot of Five Oilers". This is where I made my mistake, I sent him the following question regarding the listing:
(Title says Lot of Seven Carbine Oilers, Pictures show 7 oilers but in your description it says Lot of Five oilers. Is this auction for 7 oilers or 5 oilers?)
I really expected him to say thanks, I will correct the description, but instead he has blocked me from bidding on any of his items. He has since corrected his description to say seven instead of five. Confused

Some folks are easily offended these days.

Constructively crticise a wise man, and he thanks you.
Contructively criticise a fool, and he hates you.

That confirms a wariness I'd held in viewing the username.

Had a similar experience on eBay with a seller that had either taped or placed a rubber band to hold a fairly nice Winchester stock ( I believe ) and handguard together. All I said was that I had seen wood discolor, permanently sometimes, when that was done and that was basically it. He emailed back, a bit miffed, and proceeded to tell me I was wrong, with a condescending attitude at that. Also, and something he didn't mention in his reply, was that he blocked me from bidding on his auction. Lesson learned on my part though about trying to help people who don't at all appreciate it or even hear it.

No good deed goes unpunished!

Most sellers do not want to hear anything good or bad about their "stuff".

I suppose it is often a waste of time for them to open and read messages from many folks that don't know what they are talking about.

I don't mean you guys, but probably 90% of "questions" or comments a seller receives are "dumb".

JMHO.Cool

I don't know about 90% being dumb, but I for sure get some interesting questions on my auctions that bounce between relevant and important to WTF? I answer all questions and make sure I try and thank the askers for them.

I once asked a seller a question and he replied with an answer and said that it's also posted in the description. I responded acknowledging my 'duh' moment. His response was that he expects it and laughed.

More than once I've shared experiences of discoloration from tape or rubber bands on stocks. Tape can pull fibers off too. The sellers always say they investigated it before doing it if they put it on there. I've used zip ties at times.
