I got a can of the Korean surplus .30 Carbine ammo in yesterday evening, so I though I'd try a little after work today.

I broke down one of the rounds and there's really nothing special about it. 14.3 grs. of a powder similar physically to H110/W296. The bullet was sealed in the case, weighed 109.9 grs. and was .3075" in diameter-

I ran five of them over the chronograph screens and they averaged 1874 fps with an extreme spread of 75 fps. This is a good 100 fps slower than the PPU ammunition I shot a few months ago.

I first fired them through an Iver Johnson and it shot them pretty well, actually, grouping just a smidge over 3". There was a rather gusty wind quartering right to left and from behind, so shots tended to string left. POI was about 5" high @ 100.

Moving to the 200 yd. target the wind was really giving me hell. I tried to shoot between gusts but seems the wind would gust just as the sear broke. But the group wasn't too bad, grouping what appears to be a little over 6"-

I was going to quit, but couldn't resist and grabbed one of my Inland's. Either I was off my game or it didn't like the ammo, and has typically been a pretty accurate rifle. This 100 yd. group was about 5"-

The 200 yd. group was proportionately worse as well, grouping around 10", maybe a little less-

I didn't really buy this to shoot as I handload, but wanted some .30 Carbine ammo just to have.

I'll probably cross-post this over on the CMP forum.
